bad drivers (again)

I don't know whether I have simply been unlucky, or whether there are a higher than average number of bad drivers in my city but I had the misfortune to encounter yet another one of them this evening.
We had borrowed my Dads car and were driving back from the city centre, shortly after 6pm. As we approached a pelican crossing the lights started to change so we came to a halt and put the handbrake on (when I say "we" I actually mean "He") We had been there a minute or so when suddenly some idiot drove straight into the back of us with some force. The front of their car was rather mangled but luckily Dads car was relatively OK, save for a dent in the rear bumper. Unfortunately He and I have both ended up with whiplash and we were rather shaken. I got checked out at the hospital because my neck was really hurting and my right arm had gone totally numb. So even though I walked into A&E this time when the triage assessed me and felt my neck I was promptly put in a neck brace on a stretcher and wheeled to a corridor in the department. Well the Dr's verdict was that it is whiplash, that the numbness was caused by a nerve being compressed slightly when it happened but basically it has just injured me in pretty much all the same places as I was injured in January. So just when I was starting to recover it's all gone wrong again. My neck was still hurting from before. I am not happy.
The woman who hit us even admitted she was "oblivious" to what was going on around her. She shunted us right forward into the crossing. That said in some ways at least out car was there as other wise she would have run the red light at the crossing and possibly hit a pedestrian.
But I am angry and in pain once again. Grrrr.
